Bibliography for Research Project

March 22, 2008 at 9:49 am (Research project)

I have attached a tentative bibliography for the required research project. However, I am quite sure that this bibliography will change for the mere fact that I am still trying to find my way. I am not happy with my current selections, mainly because the pieces are outdated, and the resources I am using are available online through the library database up to a certain date, which do not include recent years. Therefore, I am still researching. But to abide by the deadline (although I am still late in submitting my work), the attached is what I have come up with thus far.

Computers and Composition vs. Computers and Composition online

March 21, 2008 at 8:07 am (Research project)

Hi all,

Just wanted to clarify: Computers and Composition is a online journal (search Google; it started around 2004) and a print journal (available through e-journals at the lib; started around 1986). If you are using Computers and Composition as your English Studies journal, make sure you check both the online and the print version for sources.

Best,

Bibliography

March 15, 2008 at 7:21 pm (Research project)

Note: I have chosen the topic of Collaborative Technology, focusing mainly on the use of Asynchronous Communication technologies used for collaboration, such as blogs and wikis.  I had intended to keep a narrow focus on blogs and wikis specifically, but was unable to find enough information outside the field of Composition on just those two technologies, so I expanded my research to include other technologies used for collaboration as well.   I hope this is acceptable – I am planning to do my thesis on Collaborative Writing, so I was attempting to choose a topic that would help me toward that end.

The two journals I have selected are Kairos (for the field of composition) and Music Educators Journal (in the field of music education).  My selections from Kairos cover the years 2002-2007; the selections from Music Educators Journal include 2005-2007, but also some selections from previous years, including 1993, 1995, 1996, and 1999, which address collaboration from differing perspectives.  I am still working to locate articles from Kairos for the years 1996 and 1999 to compare to the entries in Music Educators.

Please post a bibliography for your research project here by March 17

March 3, 2008 at 3:45 pm (Research project)

Please post a bibliography for your research project here by March 17. MLA or APA format is fine. No need to annotate, but you should get started on your griding (more about that in class tonight).

Journal research project: a clarification

February 26, 2008 at 8:33 am (Research project)

I’ve asked you to look at the contents from at least 5 years of each journal, including the last two years. By the “last two years,” I mean 2006 and 2007. There are not enough 2008 issues out yet for an adequate sample. Of course you can talk with me about focusing on 2008 if you think it makes sense for your research.

Best,

mwz
